Role Description The Lead Hardware Design Engineer will lead OTPL’s hardware engineering function and personally contribute to system architecture, circuit design, PCB development, prototype bring-up, validation and production engineering. This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a coordination-only role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyse product requirements and define electronic system architecture
• Prepare block diagrams, interface definitions and hardware specifications
• Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, power and embedded control circuits
• Design MCU-based products using STM32, ESP32, ARM, AVR, Nordic or similar platforms
• Design sensor interfaces, signal-conditioning circuits, motor-control circuits and communication interfaces
• Work with UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, CAN-FD, RS-485, Modbus,



USB and Ethernet
• Select components and prepare calculations, BOMs, approved vendor lists and component alternatives
• Create and review schematics and multilayer PCB layouts
• Establish design rules for grounding, isolation, protection, thermal performance and signal integrity
• Address ESD, surge, reverse-polarity, overvoltage, overcurrent and EMC/EMI requirements
• Lead prototype bring-up, debugging, verification and design corrections
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analysers, electronic loads, power supplies and other laboratory instruments
• Conduct schematic, PCB, BOM and design-readiness reviews
• Coordinate hardware–firmware integration with the Firmware Department
• Prepare DFM, DFA and DFT documentation
• Support PCB fabrication, assembly, production testing and manufacturing release
• EMC/EMI pre-compliance and certification support
• Maintain controlled design files, revision history and engineering documentation
• Estimate project effort, cost, technical risks and development timelines
• Mentor Senior and Graduate Hardware Engineers
• Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, suppliers and manufacturing partners
• Establish OTPL hardware-development standards, templates and review checklists REQUIRED EXPERIENCE




• 5–8+ years of relevant embedded hardware/product-development experience
• Demonstrated ownership of at least two products from requirements through prototype or production
• Strong schematic-design and circuit-debugging experience
• Experience with multilayer PCB design and review
• Practical experience in analog, digital, power and MCU-based systems
• Experience in product bring-up, validation and production support
• Strong understanding of component selection, BOM optimisation and lifecycle risks
• Experience with KiCad, Altium Designer or equivalent professional EDA tools
• Ability to independently diagnose complex hardware and system-level failures
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical work packages QUALIFICATION Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems or a related engineering discipline. WHAT WE VALUE
