Overview We are looking for an experienced Principal Architect to provide technical leadership across the MOSIP platform. This role combines architecture, engineering excellence, technology strategy, and mentorship. You will work closely with product managers, engineering teams, security specialists, and global implementation partners to shape the technical evolution of one of the world's largest open-source digital identity platforms. Skills:
• Expert-level experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, domain-driven design, and event-driven architectures.
• Extensive experience designing highly scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application development.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP is a plus).
• Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, cryptography, API security, and secure software design.
• Experience with messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka, WebSub, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with API-first development and standards such as OpenAPI.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and engineering automation.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini Code Assist, or equivalent) to improve software design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and developer productivity.
• Ability to critically review, validate, and improve AI-generated code while ensuring correctness, maintainability, security, and architectural consistency. Desired

• Architecture & Strategy: Define and drive the technical architecture, long-term technology roadmap, and engineering standards for the MOSIP platform, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and alignment with product objectives.
• Solution Design: Design and review cloud-native, distributed systems and guide technology selection, architectural decisions, and reusable design patterns across engineering teams.
• Engineering Excellence: Promote best practices through design reviews, code reviews, technical mentorship, and continuous improvements in software quality, maintainability, and reliability.
• Performance & Reliability: Architect solutions for national-scale deployments by optimising performance, scalability, availability, observability, and operational resilience.
• Security & Compliance: Embed security-by-design principles, enforce secure coding and architectural standards, and collaborate with security teams to strengthen platform resilience.




• Cloud & DevSecOps: Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, DevSecOps, and engineering automation to improve delivery efficiency.
• AI-Assisted Engineering: Establish governance and best practices for AI-assisted software development, ensuring AI-generated code meets architectural, security, quality, and compliance standards while improving developer productivity.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Mentor engineers and technical leads, collaborate with cross-functional teams and implementation partners, and contribute to architecture documentation and technical knowledge sharing.
• Technical Evangelism: Represent MOSIP at conferences, industry events, customer engagements, workshops, and technical forums by delivering presentations, architecture sessions, and technical demonstrations, while promoting MOSIP's technology vision and engaging with the global open-source community.
