ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations across our two factories in Ambattur, Chennai. The role involves managing approximately 150 people across both units, overseeing production, PPC, quality, on-time delivery and maintenance, while driving higher productivity, better capacity utilization and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for strengthening operational systems, implementing data-driven performance management and building a strong second line of leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing & Operations
• Lead day-to-day operations across both manufacturing units.
• Oversee production, PPC, quality, on-time delivery and maintenance.
• Improve production output, capacity utilization and resource efficiency.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure production targets and customer delivery commitments are achieved. Production Planning & Control
• Strengthen production planning, scheduling and execution.
• Monitor work orders, production progress and pending activities.
• Improve coordination between departments to ensure smooth operations.




• Drive improvements in on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency. Systems & Digitalization
• Drive the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Establish live operational data tracking and daily MIS reporting.
• Strengthen ERP discipline and ensure timely and accurate data entry.
• Develop operational dashboards and performance monitoring systems. Performance Management & Leadership
• Establish and monitor KRAs and KPIs across departments.
• Build accountability and performance discipline within the organization.
• Develop department heads and supervisors.
• Build a strong second line of leadership.
• Report operational performance, challenges and improvement initiatives directly to the Managing Director. Continuous Improvement
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
• Reduce rejection, rework, scrap and production lead times.
• Improve machine utilization and reduce downtime.
• Standardize processes and drive continuous improvement across both factories. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Essential Qualifications & Experience
• B.
E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including experience running a manufacturing plant.
• Experience in fabrication, pressure vessels, sheet metal,



welding or export-oriented manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality, maintenance and factory operations.
• Experience in managing teams and driving operational performance.
• Hands-on, data-driven and execution-oriented approach.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills & Knowledge
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and EN 15085.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Experience in railway, pressure vessel or heavy fabrication industries.
• Experience managing multiple manufacturing units. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
• Valuable communication skills in English, Tamil and Hindi.
