About Opplane Opplane helps organizations unlock the value of their data in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, connectivity, and regulation. We work with businesses across complex, data-intensive industries to turn fragmented or difficult-to-use data into trusted, actionable intelligence. Our work spans connectivity technologies, AI and data solutions for banking and fintech, and data governance and modernization. Our founders and leadership team bring decades of experience in networking, wireless and telecom, having built and scaled multiple technology companies, several of them acquired by leading networking and technology players. Drawing on years of selling networking infrastructure, we are involved in building critical infrastructure for telecom operators, developing carrier-grade, software-based solutions that help them deliver secure, scalable connectivity to their enterprise customers. Why this role matters Our connectivity solutions run in the networks of major telecom operators. When their network teams raise an issue, they need a quick, competent response from someone who understands networking and stays calm under pressure. You’ll be that first point of contact: taking client calls, working out what’s happening and driving issues to resolution, with the support of our senior network engineers. What you see in real client environments also matters beyond each ticket. Your input will help shape the new products we’re developing. What You’ll Do
• Be the first point of contact for client network teams, taking their calls and working issues through to resolution
• Troubleshoot issues across the IP layer, routing and authentication, using logs such as Syslog and the tools available
• Contact clients proactively when needed to gather information, test fixes or follow up on open tickets
• Escalate clearly and promptly to senior engineers when an issue needs deeper investigation
• Keep clients informed during critical issues, explaining what we’re seeing and what happens next
• Document issues, root causes and resolutions, and share the patterns you see with the team
• Build a solid understanding of our connectivity products and how they run in client networks What You’ll Bring Experience and expertise
• 3+ years of experience as a network engineer, ideally in data centre environments
• Hands-on experience with virtualised compute environments
• Solid networking fundamentals, especially IPv4 and IP addressing, and how devices obtain and use network configuration
• Working knowledge of at least one routing protocol
• Familiarity with authentication protocols
• Ability to read and interpret logs such as Syslog
• Hands-on experience with network equipment from at least one vendor (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Nokia or Ericsson)
• Good written and spoken English How you work
• You stay calm and structured under pressure, including with demanding clients
• You’re curious and proactive, and you dig into problems rather than waiting for instructions
• You know when to keep going on an issue and when to escalate
• You communicate clearly with client operations teams and colleagues, on calls and in writing
• You learn quickly on the job and from the people around you Nice to have
• Knowledge of mobile networks (4G/5G core, EPC, private mobile networks)
• Experience in a NOC, operator or managed services environment
• Relevant networking certifications What You’ll Have The Opportunity To Do
• Work directly with the network teams of major telecom operators on real production issues
• Build expertise in our connectivity products, including mobile network technologies, with support from senior engineers
• Help shape new products through what you learn from real client issue How We Work Small team, big challenges, real ownership. At Opplane, you’ll work on software and technology across data, AI and connectivity, helping build solutions that address complex technical and business needs. You’ll have access to leadership, opportunities to contribute to technical decisions and room to influence how we approach problems and build our products. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with colleagues, clients and stakeholders across the US, Portugal and India. Our work brings together different areas of expertise and perspectives, making it important to stay curious, exchange ideas and understand the challenges others are working to solve. We value people who take initiative, share their knowledge and bring new perspectives to the way we work. Ultimately, it’s about bringing people and technology together to build solutions that meet today’s needs and anticipate tomorrow’s challenges. Interested?
