Chennai Role Summary: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Java Backend Developer to join our Insurance Product Engineering team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 24 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java and related technologies, with solid understanding of product engineering principles, scalable architectures, and high-quality coding practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend services for our industry-leading insurance products. What will you do? Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable backend modules for insurance domain products.
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in requirement analysis, technical design, and architecture discussions.
- Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration components.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and development issues.
- Collaborate closely with QA, Product, and UI teams to deliver high-quality releases.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high standards of software quality.
- Stay updated with latest technologies, tools, and industry trends. What skills required? Required Experience
- 2-5 years in enterprise software development
- Insurance domain expertise (policy administration, claims, underwriting, or related)
- Strong Oracle PL/SQL

- SQL/PLSQL code analysis and optimization Preferred:
- React.js for frontend development

- LLM integration experience (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
- Microservices architecture patterns
- Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
