Business Development & Digital Marketing Manager, Roots We are looking for a Business Development and Digital Marketing Manager to join Team Phicus and drive the growth of Roots, our digital capacity-building platform for social sector organisations. You will turn interest into registrations, and registrations into paying customers: following up on every lead, running targeted campaigns, and keeping a close eye on the pipeline so that every programme fills. You will report to Smriti, Director of Partnerships, and work closely with our delivery team. This role suits someone who enjoys both the chase and the craft: persistent in follow-up, sharp with words, and curious about the social sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development and Lead Conversion
- Bring in business for our paid offerings: RootWorks (certificate programmes and series), Future Ready (our automated org health check) and Excelerate (our flagship senior leadership programme) and others
- Trace registrations from open and free Roots Live events and large strategic events back to their organisations, then follow up, chase and convert them
- Bring qualified leads into conversations with Smriti and over time hold the first conversation yourself
- Support outreach to donors and sector networks Digital Marketing
- Plan and run free and paid campaigns on LinkedIn and sector platforms such as NGO Box, CSR Box, Civil Society and IDR amongst others
- Create the collateral for each launch and event: social posts, emails, landing page copy, brochures and one-pagers
- Grow our audience and lists, track what each channel delivers, and put effort where it works Pipeline and Programme Fill
- Maintain a live pipeline across all channels, with clear stages, owners and next actions
- Watch enrolment for every programme, flag shortfalls early, and propose and drive a push, asking Smriti and our partners for specific help where needed

Experience:

- 6 years in B2B business development or digital marketing, ideally in education, training, consulting or the social sector. Social sector exposure mandatory
- Business Development: Proven record of following up persistently and warmly, writing strong outreach, and converting leads into customers. Comfort in a first conversation with a senior leader
- Digital Marketing: Hands-on experience running LinkedIn, email and social campaigns, paid and organic, and reading the numbers behind them
- Writing: Clear, human, persuasive copy in English, adapted quickly for different audiences; Hindi is a plus
- Tools: Comfort with a CRM or Excel / Google Sheets for pipeline tracking, design tools like Canva, and AI tools for content
