Role Description The Node.js Intern (Unpaid) will support the development and maintenance of backend services that power Cemzo’s construction commerce platform. This internship role is remote, allowing the intern to collaborate with the engineering team from any location. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and testing Node.js code, integrating APIs, working with databases, debugging issues,



and contributing to code reviews under the guidance of senior developers. The intern will assist in building scalable features, improving performance, and documenting technical implementations. This is a learning-focused internship role designed to help emerging developers gain practical experience in a real-world, product-based environment. Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js, with an interest in backend development.
- Basic experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON-based data exchange.
- Understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and familiarity with query concepts.
- Exposure to version control tools such as Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
- Ability to read and write clean, structured code and follow coding standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to debug and troubleshoot issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or course in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and contribute to a fast-paced startup environment.
- Interest in the construction, commerce, or B2B SaaS domain is a plus.
