About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Search Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining search and discovery systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in search technologies, relevance optimization, indexing, ranking, and search performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize search and discovery systems.
- Work on search relevance, ranking, indexing, and query optimization.
- Develop and improve search algorithms to deliver accurate and relevant results.
- Analyze search quality and identify opportunities for relevance improvement.
- Work with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or similar search platforms.
- Implement and optimize full-text search, filters, facets, autocomplete, typo tolerance, and synonyms.
- Monitor and improve search performance, scalability, and response time.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Business teams.
- Analyze search logs, user behavior, and search metrics to improve search experience.
- Troubleshoot search-related issues and implement long-term solutions.

Required Skills





- 5+ years of relevant experience in Search Engineering / Search Relevance / Search & Discovery.
- Robust hands-on knowledge of Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong understanding of Information Retrieval, Search Relevance, Ranking & Scoring, Indexing, and Query Optimization.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience with APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of search performance optimization and large-scale data handling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in e-commerce, food-tech, marketplace, SaaS, or consumer applications.
- Experience with recommendation/discovery systems.
- Knowledge of ML-based ranking / Learning-to-Rank.
- Experience with large-scale search indexes and high-volume queries.

Candidate Location & Interview Process:

- Vadodara Candidates:
- Face-to-face interview in Vadodara is compulsory for candidates currently based in Vadodara.
- Candidates Outside Vadodara:
- Virtual interviews can be conducted. Selected candidates should be willing to relocate to Vadodara.
