Deputy Manager Production (India)

Lead day-to-day production at Macnaught India across the Machine Shop and Assembly, converting the monthly plan into safe, on-time, right-first-time output at standard cost. The role runs the shop floor, the people and the routings that every transfer price is built on, and supports the ramp-up of new product lines at MET City.
Core accountability: One accountable owner for output, labour productivity, machine utilisation and shop-floor discipline across every India work centre.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning and Execution
Turn the monthly production plan and open-order book into daily and weekly schedules by work centre; agree material readiness with Supply Chain.
Deliver output, schedule adherence and customer DIFOT for finished goods, CNC machined parts and billets.
¢ Run the daily production meeting and escalate capacity, material and quality risks early with a recovery plan.
2. Machine Shop and Assembly Operations
¢ Machine Shop: band saw, VMC, conventional and DMG CNC lathes set-ups, cycle times, tooling, first-off approval and downtime.
¢ Assembly: BOP, Auto Switch, KY+ and RACR lines, plus NPD lines EBOP, PRV grease guns, KY Pro, EZ Coupler,



Grease Swivel and barrels.
¢ Balance lines to takt, manage shift patterns and overtime, and confirm subcontract processes (plating, hardening, anodising) with Supply Chain.
3. Routings, Standards and Cost
¢ Own the accuracy of routings and standard hours in Business Central for every SKU; time recent and changed operations before release.
¢ Hold work-centre efficiency at the 70% budget basis and drive toward the 85% FY28 target; explain variances in labour hours and output monthly.
¢ Provide production inputs to budgets, capacity planning, NPD costing and make-or-buy decisions.
4. People, Quality and Safety
¢ Lead, train and multi-skill supervisors and operators; own skill matrix, rosters and attendance.
¢ Enforce SOPs and in-process checks; cut rejection, rework and scrap with Quality (8D/CAPA).
¢ Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean and TPM within ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EHS requirements.
5. NPD Industrialisation and Factory Set-up
¢ Support NPD trials, fixtures, line layout and PPAP builds through to stable volume.
¢ Complete machine transfer and line set-up at MET City without disrupting supply.

¢ Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
¢ 710 years in precision engineering or auto components, hands-on in CNC/VMC machining and assembly.
¢ Proven production planning, line balancing, manpower management and shift leadership.
¢ Lean, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, 8D and ERP (Business Central preferred); good English and Hindi.
