Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Systems Engineer who can independently own hardware and firmware development, from schematic design and PCB layout to firmware development, prototyping, testing and production readiness.

The candidate will be responsible for developing wearable audio-capturing devices used in retail environments. The role requires strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, PCB design, audio hardware and power management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Firmware Development: Develop, debug, test and optimise firmware using C and C++ on ESP32-S3 and similar microcontrollers.
2. Hardware Design: Handle schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, prototyping and hardware debugging using KiCad or Altium.
3. Audio Hardware: Work on microphones, amplifiers and audio capture systems to ensure high-quality audio recording.
4. Connectivity: Implement I2C, SPI, UART, I2S, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication protocols.
5. Power Management: Optimise battery consumption and develop low-power embedded systems.
6. Hardware Integration: Integrate sensors, communication modules, displays and other hardware components.
7. Product Development:



Take ownership of the complete product lifecycle, from concept and prototype to testing and production readiness.
8. Field Debugging: Identify and resolve hardware and firmware issues in real-world deployment environments.

Required Skills

- 3–6 years of experience in Embedded Systems Development.
- Robust hands-on experience in Embedded C and C++.
- Practical experience with ESP32-S3 or similar microcontrollers.
- Expertise in PCB design, schematic development and hardware debugging.
- Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART and I2S protocols.
- Experience with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
- Experience integrating sensors and communication modules.
- Proven experience taking an embedded product from concept to production.
- Strong troubleshooting and independent problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with microphones, audio amplifiers and audio processing circuits.
- Knowledge of microphone arrays, beamforming and noise cancellation.
- Experience with digital audio interfaces and audio codecs.
- Knowledge of FreeRTOS and ESP-IDF.
- Experience in battery-operated devices and low-power optimisation.
