CIVIL DESIGNER – UNDERGROUND SERVICES & GENERAL CIVIL

A Civil Underground Services Designer with 10 years of experience focuses on detailed 3D modeling, clash resolution, and drafting execution. Key responsibilities include leading utility routing, mentoring junior staff, and managing coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders, taking part in model reviews.

Role Overview

Job Title: Senior Civil Underground Services Designer

Experience Level: 10+ Years

Core Focus: Detail 3D modeling, multi-disciplinary utility coordination, and delivery of construction drawing packages. Industrial networks including Oily Water Sewers (OWS), Chemical/Corrosive Waste Sewers (CRW), and Accidentally Oil Contaminated (AOC) systems. Also site preparation, Road and Paving layouts, UG sumps and pits, cable trenches, ductbank etc.

Key Responsibilities

3D Virtual Modeling: Build comprehensive, clash-free 3D models for all subsurface utilities using advanced civil design software.

Clash Detection & Resolution: Lead interdisciplinary coordination reviews to identify and resolve spatial conflicts between wet utilities, electrical banks, and structural foundations.

Drawing Package Delivery: Produce highly accurate construction drawings,



including utility plans, detailed profiles, trench cross-sections, and isometric views for all underground services, site preparation, road layout and details, paving and grading layouts and details.

Material Take-Offs (MTO): Extract accurate material quantities and schedules directly from 3D models to support procurement and estimation teams.

Junior Mentorship: Supervise, train, and quality-check the work of junior draftspersons and CAD technicians.

Underground Structures: Development of drawings for underground concrete sumps, pits, retaining wall etc.

Interdisciplinary coordination: should be able to coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders effectively.

Required Qualifications

Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering, ITI Draftsmanship, or equivalent technical certification.

Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of IS, OISD, API (American Petroleum Institute), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards 11, 15, and 24, and ASME B31.3.

Software Skills: Mastery of SP3D, Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Autodesk Navisworks (for clash detection).
