? We’re hiring: Workday Payroll Consultant – US & Canada (Contract, Remote India)

DocumentIT, a global Workday Services and Implementation Partner, is looking for an experienced Workday Payroll consultant to support US and Canada payroll for one of our clients.

? Role details

Location: remote, India

Engagement: contract, 6 months initially, extendable

Start: immediate, or within 30 days preferred

Working hours: partial overlap with North American time zones (EST)

?️ What you’ll do

- Configure and support Workday Payroll for the US and Canada, including earnings, deductions, pay groups, pay calendars and payroll calculation rules
- Run payroll processing support: pay runs, off-cycle and on-demand payments, retro pay, settlement and reconciliation
- Manage US tax: federal, state and local withholding, multi-state taxation, tax filing partner integrations (e.g. Symmetry, BSI or third-party filing providers) and garnishments
- Manage Canadian payroll: federal and provincial tax, CPP/QPP, EI, QPIP, ROEs and advantages taxation
- Lead or support year-end activities, including W-2, W-2c, T4, T4A and RL-1
- Troubleshoot payroll results and audit reports,



and resolve issues within SLA
- Support Workday semi-annual releases, regression testing and change requests
- Work with HR, Finance, Benefits and integration teams on inbound and outbound payroll data, including GL, banking and benefits feeds
- Write configuration documentation, test scripts and process guides

✅ What you’ll bring
- 6+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience covering both US and Canada

Workday Payroll certification (active)

- At least one full-cycle implementation and/or post-production support for US and Canada payroll
- Strong knowledge of North American payroll legislation and year-end processing
- Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields and EIB
- Clear communication with client stakeholders across time zones

⭐ Nice to have
- Workday Absence, Time Tracking or Benefits experience
- Exposure to Workday Payroll integrations (PECI, Payroll Effective Change Interface, or third-party tax and banking)
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional, US) or PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner, Canada) certification
