Job Summary
As a Senior Environmental Physics Wind (EPW) Engineer you will be working with a creative, innovative, multi-cultural and self-motivated team in India, the wider UKIMEA region and globally. The successful candidate will complement our EPW team in the UKIMEA by assisting with the building physics, microclimate and/or wind elements across our projects. Due to our geographic location, we are very well positioned to work closely with our Environmental Physics, Building Physics and Wind teams, as well as Fire and Smoke Modelling and Facades teams globally.
It's an exciting time to be a part of our growth in India.
The Opportunity
You will work on a wide range of projects, lead junior engineers, and draw on support from the wider EPW team as needed. The role is highly collaborative, working closely with EPW engineers and multidisciplinary teams across Arup, from early concept advice to advanced modelling for some of the firm's most high-profile and complex projects.
We are looking for someone who delivers high-quality work on time and on budget, with a proven track record in numerical analysis of internal and external flows to inform design decisions (e.g., wind and thermal comfort, emissions dispersion, ventilation, HVAC, and building physics).
As a senior member of the EPW Practice,
you will bring strong communication and negotiation skills and experience leading project teams. You will mentor and support others, helping the team grow and develop. We actively support learning and development, including access to relevant training.
You will have robust commercial, client-facing skills and represent Arup externally with minimal supervision. An established client network is an advantage. You should have experience in CFD modelling (OpenFOAM, ANSYS CFX or Fluent) and working with geographically distributed teams.
Experience in datacentre CFD, microclimate design, dynamic thermal modelling and/or wind engineering is a plus.
