Your Role

As a Project Architect at Gensler, you will play a key role in delivering complex aviation projects, combining design excellence with technical expertise to create innovative, functional and memorable environments. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will guide projects through design development, technical documentation and construction, ensuring design intent is translated into practical, buildable solutions.

You will collaborate with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to address the unique operational, technical and regulatory requirements of aviation environments. You will also provide technical leadership to project teams, resolve complex design challenges and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

What You Will Do

- Lead architectural and technical coordination across aviation projects, ensuring design intent, functionality and project requirements are maintained throughout delivery.
- Oversee the development of design and construction documentation, coordinating closely with structural, MEP, civil and other specialist consultants.
- Collaborate with project leaders, clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, technically sound solutions to complex design challenges.
- Manage technical aspects of project delivery, including specifications, quality standards, regulatory compliance and coordination with relevant authorities.
- Support project planning and execution, ensuring technical deliverables align with project schedules, budgets and client expectations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and high standards of project delivery.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants during construction, including site inspections, reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs and resolving construction-related issues.




- Apply aviation-specific knowledge to address operational requirements, passenger experience, safety and the integration of complex building systems.
- Incorporate sustainable design principles and environmental performance objectives into architectural and technical solutions.

Your Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, with professional architectural registration or licensure.
- 10+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery, including demonstrated experience on aviation projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex architectural projects through design development, technical documentation and construction administration.
- Strong technical knowledge of aviation facilities, building systems, construction methods, materials and relevant codes and standards.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, managing technical documentation and resolving complex design and construction challenges.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu and relevant design and visualisation software, with familiarity in SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite advantageous.
- Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with the ability to engage clients, coordinate stakeholders and guide project teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable design and familiarity with recognised green building standards such as LEED, WELL or equivalent certification frameworks.
