As a Senior Product Designer II, you'll help build the design vision for major product lines and platforms, turning this huge, complex dataset into products that media professionals, advertisers, and agencies rely on for critical business decisions.

Build the design vision for major product lines

Your work connects user needs to business outcomes and shapes design standards across Nielsen.

Work at the tactical and strategic level at the same time, across several projects.

Use behavioral data and research to shape product direction and fill gaps in what partners know.

Negotiate trade-offs between Product, Engineering, and Design. Build data-backed cases for design-led initiatives that change priorities at the leadership level, and say so clearly when a project is high-effort but low-outcome.

Evolve our design system

Bring new patterns and help make governance decisions for the design system used across Nielsen's global products. Mentor designers,



run workshops and design jams, and advocate for your teammates' growth. Improve how design works with other functions, from handoffs to sprint planning.

You understand the P&L; and the competitive landscape, and you can explain how a design decision affects retention, LTV, conversion, or differentiation. You run discovery that defines new product directions, and you create frameworks that help others work through uncertainty. You can make high-stakes calls with incomplete information.

You use high-quality prototypes and clear storytelling to get executives and partners behind an idea.

You act as a design leader with or without formal authority. You can talk about sampling, statistical significance, and data pipelines with data scientists and engineers.

You Keep Learning And Help Others Learn

You follow emerging technologies like AI and what they mean for design, you're open to contrarian views, and you encourage experimentation and learning from failure.

7+ years of experience

Including significant time leading design for complex products. Experience with data-heavy or enterprise products is a strong plus. Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent skilled experience (formal education not required).

Proficiency in design tools
