1. Translate product requirements, user needs, operating conditions, and system constraints into design concepts, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
2. Define the current product development process flow and prepare staged design plans and deliverables.
3. Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, 2D drawings, and bills of materials.
4. Develop tooling designs, coordinating DAP activities with customers and suppliers and tracking open points through closure and sign-off.
5. Build or support prototypes, review test results, and refine designs to resolve issues and meet requirements.
6. Support design transfer to manufacturing and drive ongoing product improvement.
7. Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design, tooling, quality, and production issues.
8. Keep drawings, bills of materials, revisions, and design records accurate and up to date.
