Job Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day aluminium extrusion die and tooling activities.
- Ensure timely availability of dies, dummy blocks, mandrels, stems, containers and other extrusion tooling for production.
- Coordinate die setting, preheating, die changes and trial activities with the Production team.
- Inspect dies and tooling before and after extrusion trials.
- Monitor die condition, die life and performance and maintain proper records.
- Support die correction and modification based on profile dimensions and extrusion trial results.
- Coordinate with die manufacturers/vendors for recent die development, correction, repair, polishing and nitriding.
- Analyse tooling-related extrusion defects such as dimension variation, die lines, pickup, surface defects, uneven wall thickness and profile distortion.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve die-related quality issues.
- Ensure proper cleaning, polishing, maintenance and storage of extrusion dies.
- Maintain die history, trial reports, correction records, die life and rejection data.




- Supervise tool room fitters/operators and allocate daily jobs.
- Ensure availability and proper maintenance of tool room machines, tools, gauges and measuring instruments.
- Monitor tooling inventory and coordinate with Stores/Purchase for required tooling and consumables.
- Ensure proper 5S, housekeeping and safety in the tool room.
- Support cost reduction, die life improvement, scrap reduction and Kaizen activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to SOPs, work instructions and quality standards.
