POSITION Assistant Manager Purchase (RM) EXPERIENCE 7–9 years LOCATION WORKING HOURS Bharuch, Gujarat Role overview 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM The Assistant Manager – Purchase (Raw Materials) will manage end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, ensuring the right quality, quantity, price and delivery timelines. The role involves supplier development, commercial negotiations, purchase planning, inventory coordination and close collaboration with internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials in line with production requirements, inventory norms and approved budgets. • Source, identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers; maintain a robust vendor base and alternate sourcing options. • Obtain and analyse quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods and delivery schedules. • Create and release purchase orders in accordance with approved specifications, commercial terms and company procedures. • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability. • Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments and delivery status; proactively resolve delays, shortages and supply-related issues. • Work with the Quality team to address material rejections, quality complaints, replacements and corrective actions with suppliers. • Track market trends, commodity prices and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and value-improvement opportunities. • Maintain procurement records,



vendor documentation, contracts, rate agreements and MIS reports for management review. • Support inventory optimisation by monitoring stock levels, lead times, consumption patterns and slow/non-moving materials. • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal controls, approval matrices, applicable policies and ethical sourcing practices. Required skills and competencies • Strong knowledge of raw material procurement, purchase planning, sourcing and vendor management. • Proven negotiation, commercial evaluation and cost-reduction skills. • Understanding of inventory control, material planning, lead times and supply chain processes. • Ability to evaluate supplier capability, quality, pricing, reliability and delivery performance. • Good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities. • Effective communication, coordination and relationship-management skills. Page 1• Working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/procurement systems; ability to prepare purchase and MIS reports. • Strong follow-up, documentation, time-management and multitasking skills. Education and experience • Education: B.Com / M.Com / Material Management / MBA in Supply Chain Management or an equivalent qualification. • Experience: 7 to 9 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably handling raw materials. • FMCG industry experience will be preferred. Preferred profile Candidates with experience in FMCG procurement, supplier development and raw material sourcing will be given preference.
