Designation: Manager – Customs Clearance
Department: Customs Clearance
Location: Mumbai
Reporting To: Head – Customs Clearance / Management

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee end-to-end customs clearance operations for import and export shipments, ensuring timely clearance, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end import and export customs clearance operations.
Ensure compliance with Customs Act, DGFT regulations, CBIC guidelines and other applicable statutory requirements.
Supervise documentation, Bill of Entry, Shipping Bill, examination, assessment and duty payment processes.
Coordinate with Customs officials, ports, CFS, shipping lines, airlines, transporters and other stakeholders.
Handle queries, queries resolution, amendments, examination and clearance-related issues.
Monitor daily operations to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
Lead, guide and supervise the customs clearance team and allocate operational responsibilities.
Maintain solid relationships with clients and provide effective solutions to operational challenges.
Monitor operational costs, vendor performance and service quality.




Identify process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround time.
Ensure accurate maintenance of records, MIS reports and operational documentation.
Support business development activities, client acquisition and preparation of operational quotations.
Handle escalations and resolve customer complaints efficiently.
Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs and statutory compliance requirements.

Qualification & Experience
Graduate in any discipline; relevant qualified qualifications in logistics or supply chain will be preferred.
8–12 years of experience in Customs Clearance, preferably in a CHA / Customs Broking / Freight Forwarding company.
Minimum 3–5 years of team management experience.
Strong knowledge of import-export procedures, customs regulations and documentation.
