A CNC Programmer designs and writes computer instructions (G-code or CAM toolpaths) to control Computer Numerical Control machines—such as mills, lathes, and routers—that cut raw materials into precision parts.
Core Responsibilities
Program Development: Write, test, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and G-code/M-code.
Blueprint & Model Analysis: Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and project specifications.
Simulation & Verification: Run virtual simulations to verify toolpaths, check for collisions, and conduct trial or first-article runs.
Machine Setup & Tooling: Select cutting tools, design custom workholding fixtures, and configure machine parameters (feeds, speeds, and offsets).
Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose machining errors, reduce cycle times, improve tool life, and collaborate with production or engineering teams.
Quality & Maintenance:
Perform quality assurance inspections, keep process documentation, and oversee routine or preventive equipment maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, ITI, Diploma, or Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Software Proficiency: Experience with CAD/CAM platforms (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, UG NX CAM, or AutoCAD).
Technical Knowledge: Solid grasp of G-code/M-code, cutting tool properties, and controllers (such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or Mitsubishi).
Math & Analytical Aptitude: Proficiency in geometry and trigonometry for calculating tool paths and dimensional tolerances.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
