Job Summary

The L1 Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to end users, troubleshooting desktop and laptop issues, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations. The engineer will handle basic hardware, software, operating system, network, printer, and user-support issues and escalate complex problems to the appropriate L2 team or vendor.

Key Responsibilities
Provide L1 technical support to users for desktop, laptop, CCTV and basic IT-related issues.
Troubleshoot Windows OS, application, software, and system performance issues.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, CCTV and other IT peripherals.
Perform Windows installation, upgrades, patching, and basic system configuration.
Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, IP address, DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity issues.
Configure and troubleshoot printers, network printers, scanners, CCTV and other peripherals.
Provide support for Microsoft Office, Outlook, browsers, PDF applications, and other standard business applications.
Create, configure, and troubleshoot user profiles, email clients, and basic access-related issues as per company policy.




Perform basic hardware troubleshooting, including RAM, HDD/SSD, keyboard, mouse, monitor, power, and other components.
Maintain IT assets and update hardware/software inventory and support records.
Attend user complaints/tickets within the defined SLA and provide timely resolution.
Properly document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L2 support, System/Network Administrators, or vendors.
Assist in deployment and replacement of computers and IT equipment.
Support users during recent employee onboarding, system setup, and employee transfers.
Follow IT security policies, including antivirus, password, access-control, and endpoint-security requirements.
Assist with backup, data migration, and system replacement activities when required.
Coordinate with hardware/software vendors for warranty and service-related issues.
Ensure proper handling and security of company IT assets.
Provide support during planned IT activities, upgrades, and maintenance.
Perform any other IT support activities assigned by the IT Manager / IT Head.
