Title: CEO – Retail Business (Smartphones, IT Hardware & Software)

Location: New Delhi, with regular travel across the store network in North India and Kolkata

Reports to: Promoters / Board

Compensation: 60L–1 Cr fixed + performance-linked variable

A listed Indian company in multi-brand retail and distribution of branded smartphones, IT hardware, software and accessories. It operates both offline and online channels and has recently expanded its distribution portfolio.

The Role

- We are looking for a CEO to lead the retail business with full P&L; ownership.
- You will oversee store operations, expansion, brand relationships, customer experience and team development, reporting to the promoters and board.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own retail strategy, budgets, profitability and operating performance.
- Drive same-store growth through customer conversion, product mix, repeat purchases and service quality.
- Develop the expansion roadmap, including location selection, store formats, investment requirements and launch execution.
- Establish store economics, break-even targets, cash-payback expectations and turnaround plans for underperforming locations.
- Manage inventory availability, ageing, markdowns, shrinkage and seasonal stock.
- Strengthen brand partnerships and negotiate purchasing terms, incentives, supplier credit and promotional support.
- Build an integrated online and offline customer proposition with clear channel profitability.
- Build and lead regional, store operations and frontline teams.
- Introduce reliable management reporting, operating processes and performance accountability.
- Work with the promoters and finance team on capital allocation and growth funding.





What We're Looking For

- Senior leadership (CEO, MD, Business Head, COO, VP or Head of Retail) in retail, consumer electronics, mobile, IT products or a comparable distribution business.
- Clear ownership of a retail or business P&L.;
- Managed a network of 10+ stores, outlets or locations in a single role.
- Measurable track record of scaling a store network or improving existing-store performance (same-store growth, turnaround, store profitability).
- 5+ years building and leading teams across multiple locations (regional, store operations or frontline).
- Hands-on expertise in store economics and inventory — e.g., break-even, markdowns, shrinkage, working capital or supplier negotiation.

Must Haves:

- Experience in a listed company or promoter-led business, or with board, promoter or governance reporting.
- Negotiated with brands, OEMs or distributors on purchasing terms, incentives or promotional support.
