Company Description Superfan.ng is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The platform uses a gamified, quiz-first approach to engage learners with African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for both Africans and the diaspora, Superfan.ng aims to make language learning and cultural education accessible, enjoyable, and deeply immersive. Team members contribute to a mission-driven product that celebrates and preserves African heritage through interactive digital experiences. Role Description The Design Engineer will work full time in a remote capacity, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and creative teams to design and refine features for Superfan.ng’s platform and related products. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceptualizing and developing product designs, creating and updating detailed CAD models and technical drawings, and ensuring that mechanical and electrical design elements align with performance, safety, and usability requirements. The role involves iterating on design solutions based on user feedback and testing data, documenting specifications and design decisions, and coordinating with developers and other stakeholders to support efficient implementation.



The Design Engineer will also contribute to design reviews, propose improvements to existing systems, and help maintain consistent design standards across projects. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for developing functional and user-centered solutions.
• Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills, including understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural design principles.
• Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for creating precise models, assemblies, and technical documentation.
• Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills applicable to integrating electronic components and ensuring compatibility with overall product design.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team workplace, with clear communication and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in edtech, digital products, or culturally focused platforms is a plus, along with an interest in African languages and heritage.
