We are seeking a strong QA Automation and Tier 2 Production Support Engineer to join a production support team. This is a hybrid role combining technical production support, incident investigation, troubleshooting, and QA automation. The selected candidate will provide Tier 2 support for production applications and serve as a backup for the QA team. The ideal candidate should be able to independently investigate issues, analyze logs and data, identify root causes, coordinate with technical and business teams, validate fixes, and improve regression coverage through automation. Note
- This is not a basic help-desk role. It requires strong technical troubleshooting, QA knowledge, ownership, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Tier 2 Production Support
- Investigate production incidents escalated by Tier 1 support or business users.
- Analyze application logs, API responses, database records, system behavior, and integration flows.
- Reproduce reported issues and identify whether they are related to application code, data, configuration, environment, or integration dependencies.
- Perform root-cause analysis and document findings clearly.
- Resolve issues within the scope of the role and escalate complex code-level or infrastructure issues to development or Tier 3 teams.
- Coordinate with developers, architects, DevOps, database teams, business users, and external partners to drive issues to resolution.
- Monitor incidents through closure and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.
- Support production deployments, smoke testing, post-deployment validation, and rollback verification.
- Maintain incident documentation, troubleshooting guides, known-error records, and support procedures.

- Identify recurring production issues and recommend preventive actions. Quality Assurance and Automation
- Design, execute, and maintain functional, integration, regression, API, database, and end-to-end test cases.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or similar technologies.
- Convert recurring production issues into regression test scenarios to prevent future occurrences.
- Validate defect fixes and ensure appropriate regression coverage before release.
- Perform API and backend validation, including request and response verification, error handling, authentication, and data-flow testing.
- Execute SQL queries to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and reconcile information across systems.
- Support test planning, defect management, release-readiness assessments, and QA status reporting.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Serve as a backup for the QA team during critical releases, high-priority testing, or resource absences. Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in software quality assurance, application support, or a combined QA and production-support role.
- Hands-on experience supporting production applications in a Tier 2 capacity.

- Strong experience in incident triage, troubleshooting, defect analysis, and root-cause investigation.
- Hands-on QA automation experience using Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, or a comparable framework.
- Solid API-testing experience using Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Ability to analyze application logs using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, Dynatrace, Azure Application Insights, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of web applications, APIs, microservices, integrations, and upstream/downstream data flows.
- Experience with defect and incident-management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of Agile delivery, release management, and CI/CD processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of issues through resolution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and client leadership.
- Willingness to provide support during critical releases or production incidents when required. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of Linux commands and basic server troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud-based applications hosted on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and basic performance testing.
- Experience supporting payment, telecom, aviation, healthcare, or other enterprise applications.
- Experience working with distributed onshore and offshore teams.
