Workfront Architect:
Role summary
Owns the end-to-end Workfront solution design for Client’s greenfield implementation. Converts the completed Client strategy and design work into a buildable baseline, leads the Design Authority, and is the senior client-facing technical voice for BRM, IT, the creative agency and procurement. Accountable for a design that absorbs job variability through a small set of blueprints and a shared task library, rather than a template per job type.
Key responsibilities
- Validate the completed design for build feasibility during mobilisation and disposition each requirement as configure, automate, integrate or process-only.
- Define the target Workfront architecture: 6-layer taxonomy, object hierarchy, naming standards, access structure and role-based setup for 6 personas.
- Lead the Design Authority and fix the scope baseline: blueprint count, task-library size, form inventory, workflow variants and Fusion scenario baseline.
- Design multi-layer approval paths for Business, Legal and Regulatory reviewers, with approvers resolved by job role rather than access level.
- Set the MLR orchestration boundary: Veeva remains system of record, Workfront gates, tracks elapsed review days and releases downstream tasks.
- Own the integration architecture and tiering (SSO, Outlook, Teams, Creative Cloud, AEM, AEM Assets, SharePoint, Frame.io) and define the native-versus-Fusion decision for each automation.
- Run pilot-cycle reviews with Client users and turn feedback into prioritised refinements within the agreed baseline.
- Assess change requests for impact on scope, timeline and cost, and present them at Programme Review and Steering.
- Lead champion certification as part of the train-the-trainer model and support go-live readiness decisions.
- Review all configuration and Fusion design produced offshore for quality, performance and maintainability by two Client administrators.
Must have
- Led at least two end-to-end Workfront implementations from design to go-live in large enterprises.
- Deep command of Workfront object model: portfolios, programs, projects, templates, custom forms, request queues, approval processes, milestone paths, layout templates and access levels.
- Experience integrating Workfront with AEM Assets for approved-asset publication with metadata.
- Proven client-facing presence with business, IT and procurement stakeholders, including running design workshops and governance forums.
- Ability to make and defend design trade-offs in writing.
Nice to have
- Life sciences, medical device or CPG marketing operations experience, including MLR or Veeva PromoMats processes.
- Experience with agency-led design handovers.
- Workfront Proof and Frame.io review workflows.
- Exposure to SSO configuration with enterprise identity providers.
Certifications
- Adobe Workfront certification (Core Developer or Project Manager track) required.
Adobe Workfront Fusion certification preferred.
