About the Role

We are looking for a UI Developer who can build fast, responsive, accessible web interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks and who is also comfortable working in WordPress environments. You will turn designs into production-ready code, work with APIs and CMS back ends, and help keep our websites performant and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain responsive web applications and websites using Next.js, React.js and the MERN stack.
- AI-assisted development: Comfortable using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up development, debugging and testing, while reviewing and owning the quality of the code produced.
- Convert Figma/Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, cross-browser-compatible interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap.
- Develop and customise WordPress themes and plugins, including custom post types, templates and hooks.
- Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, including headless CMS and WordPress REST API integrations.
- Handle WordPress server-side concerns: PHP customisation, database queries, caching, security hardening, and migrations between environments.
- Deploy and manage sites on Linux servers (Apache/Nginx), including basic configuration, SSL, permissions, logs and troubleshooting.
- Optimise performance (Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, image optimisation, bundle size) and implement on-page SEO best practices.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG) and consistent UI behaviour across devices and browsers.
- Use Git/GitHub for version control: branching, pull requests, code reviews and release workflows.
- Collaborate with designers, backend developers, QA and content teams,



and take part in sprint planning and estimation.
- Write clean, reusable, well-documented components and help maintain a shared component library.

Required Skills

Frontend

- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript (ES6+): closures, async/await, promises, DOM, event handling.
- Hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR, routing, API routes).
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, animations), Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap.
- State management (Context API, Redux or Zustand) and hooks.

Backend / MERN

- Working knowledge of Node.js, Express.js and MongoDB.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

WordPress and server

- Good understanding of WordPress CMS architecture, theme and plugin development, and page builders such as Elementor or Gutenberg.
- Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL and WordPress server-side handling (WP-CLI, cron, caching, security).
- Linux server knowledge: SSH, file permissions, web server configuration, basic shell commands.
- Familiarity with CDN and caching tools (Cloudflare, Redis, WP Rocket).

Tools

- Git and GitHub (branching, merging, resolving conflicts, pull requests).
- npm/yarn, browser DevTools, Postman, Figma.

Good to Have
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Headless WordPress with Next.js.
- Knowledge of CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Docker, or cloud hosting (AWS, DigitalOcean, Vercel).
- Testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library).
- Basic knowledge of UX principles.
