DIMTS is seeking motivated and technically proficient professionals with a strong academic background and practical experience in urban transport planning and transport modelling.

The selected candidates will contribute to multidisciplinary mobility projects by combining transport planning expertise, quantitative analysis, and modelling capabilities to support evidence-based transport strategies, mobility improvements, and infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMPs), bus route planning and rationalization, Traffic Impact Assessments, and other urban transport studies.
- Develop, calibrate, validate, and apply multimodal strategic transport models using PTV VISUM.
- Undertake traffic microsimulation using PTV VISSIM, as required.
- Organize and coordinate primary and secondary data collection, including passenger travel surveys, freight movement studies, and traffic surveys.
- Conduct transport demand forecasting, scenario analysis, policy evaluation, and network performance assessments.
- Process and analyze transport datasets, matrices, and model outputs using appropriate analytical and scripting tools.
- Integrate transport modelling outputs into planning strategies, technical recommendations, and infrastructure prioritization.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, project proposals, and other project deliverables.
- Support stakeholder consultations and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.




- Contribute to evidence-based decision-making for urban mobility and transport infrastructure development.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Robust understanding of transport planning principles, transport demand forecasting, land usetransport integration, and mobility management.
- Hands-on proficiency in PTV VISUM, including model development, calibration, validation, and sensitivity analysis.
- Understanding of traffic microsimulation and familiarity with PTV VISSIM.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with Python, Excel VBA, R, or similar tools for data processing, scripting, and model post-processing.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical report-writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory Postgraduate Qualification:

- M.Plan. in Transport Planning or Traffic Engineering from a recognized university.

Undergraduate Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Planning (B.Plan), Civil Engineering (B.Tech), or Architecture (B.Arch).

Experience Requirements

- 3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience in transport planning.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in transport modelling, analytics, and transport planning studies.
- Practical experience with PTV VISUM is essential.
- Experience in CMPs, traffic studies, transport demand forecasting, or bus route planning will be relevant to the role.
