Job Purpose The Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training programs that support revenue cycle operations, including billing, claims management, denials, appeals, and related workflows. The Trainer facilitates onboarding and ongoing education for new and existing team members, promotes knowledge and skill development, and collaborates with operational teams to ensure training content aligns with current processes, systems, and business objectives. The Trainer also supports account implementations, transitions, and go-live activities to drive operational readiness and client success.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Design and maintain medical billing curricula, training syllabi, and course modules
- Develop account navigation workflow of billing system for both hospital and physician billing and other system tools
- Develop denial management training workflows for common denials
- Provide oversight and coaching during live medical billing and claim denial activities, ensuring trainees effectively apply concepts, workflows, and best practices
- Create guidelines for common payer policies for health insurance payers
- Update and improve existing training and process modules as needed
- Partner with the Forensic Quality department to identify process improvement opportunities and develop training materials related to claim edits, denial workflows, systems, and client-specific processes
- Create training exercises, competency assessments, and qualification examinations for medical billing, denial management, systems, and processes
- Update weekly deck and participate in weekly training meetings with management
- Collaborate with billing operations managers, supervisors, and quality to resolve issues that impact internal and external customers
- Develop and conduct phone training for existing billing staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards




- Adheres to all Information Security and HIPAA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements continually.
- Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPB and Coding Certification (CPC, CCS, COC) is a plus
- 1+ year previous training experience
- Minimum of 4 years of medical billing or revenue cycle management experience specific to AR and Denials Management or provider side of the healthcare insurance industry
- In-depth understanding of claim denials
- Supervisory experience preferred; demonstrated leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
