Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced SAP Change Management Lead to govern SAP changes, releases and transports across the landscape, ensuring controlled delivery, business continuity and compliance with ITIL, SOX and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- SAP Change Management:
- Oversee and manage SAP system changes, ensuring they align with business and compliance requirements.
- Define and implement change control processes for SAP applications.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to evaluate, approve, and schedule changes.

- Release Management
- Develop and manage the SAP release calendar to ensure seamless deployment of changes.
- Plan and coordinate SAP upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Ensure proper documentation and testing for all releases to minimize disruptions.
- Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to IT policies, regulatory requirements, and SAP best practices.
- Implement ITIL-based change and release processes, ensuring compliance with audit and security policies.
- Manage risk assessments and impact analyses for all SAP changes.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business, IT, and SAP functional teams to coordinate change implementations.
- Provide regular updates and reports on change and release activities to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in SAP change and release management processes.





Required Skills & Leadership Capabilities
- SAP Change Tools: Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager ChaRM and Rev-Trac for change control, workflow, approvals, audit trail and release governance.
- Transport Management: Solid knowledge of SAP Transport Management System, transport sequencing, dependency management, import coordination, conflict resolution, retrofit and emergency transports.
- ITIL & Governance: Strong understanding of ITIL change enablement, release management, CAB governance, risk and impact assessment, change models, emergency change control, PIR and continual improvement.
- SOX Compliance: Ability to ensure segregation of duties, approvals, evidence retention, testing and deployment traceability, and readiness for internal and external audits.
- SAP GRC: Working knowledge of SAP GRC Access Control, role and access risks, SoD controls and coordination with security teams is preferred.
- Leadership: Lead CAB and release readiness reviews, manage escalations and change conflicts, coach coordinators, define governance metrics, analyse failed and unauthorised changes, and present risks, trends and improvement actions to senior stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication, decision-making and coordination skills across business, application, Basis, security, infrastructure and vendor teams.
