Sr Control Software Engineer

Oil&Gas; portfolio of the Energy & Utilities business unit. He/She will be responsible for establishing and growing business services & solutions for all the

O&G; accounts (existing/prospect accounts) globally.

He/She will be Performs assignments that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

engineers.

- Support controls EFAT as Services controls engineer
- Provide engineering support to the service projects for the controls scope.
- Preparation of Design Criteria for Controls and Instrumentation.
- Should be able to Independently carry out Control system Hardware and Software Detail

Design,Engineering, Application Development, Testing, Integration of Hardware, FAT with customer.

- Understanding of Field Instrumentation, Control Valves & Pressure Safety Valves Data Sheet

in Smart Plant Instrumentation.

- Preparation of Complex Loop Control Narratives, Cause and Effect Matrix for Process and F&G;

System, logic narratives.

- Preparation of documents like DBIO, FDS, HMI Spec, SPD.
- Leads and supports project, new product/technology development, product improvement.
- Serves as a technical point of contact for assigned work package scope and may serve as a

focal point for all communications related to scope.

- Provides supervisor with technical assistance and work progress updates as requested.
- Mentors and provides technical guidance to Engineers.
- Works collaboratively to accomplish project tasks. Provides independent review and approval

of work packages.





- Works to the requirements of industry code related to subsea production systems and

standards. (ISO 13628-6, ISO 15745-2:2003)

- Adheres to all relevant work instructions and design guidelines, clearly demonstrates

creativity and innovation in finding solutions and alternatives.

- Develops unique solutions for complex technical problems that may include the design of new

products/systems or the development of solutions having few or no precedents.

- Ability to manage the engineering projects within specified schedule and budget.

Demonstrated organization and project planning skills.

- Accuracy, dependability, ability to manage schedule and prioritize work for self and others in

team.

- Ability to work independently and as a part of a technical team - a self-motivated, self-starter.
- Practical experience/understanding of preparation, coordination, and execution phase of

projects in general.

- Basic technical knowledge of Control System engineering in Oil and Gas.
- Understanding of industry regulatory codes and standards.
- Good working knowledge with Software Development Life Cycle.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial communication protocols like Modbus, CANbus, OPC,

Profibus, ControlNet, Device Net etc.

- Design experience or Basic knowledge of DCS / PLC and SCADA Networks, Fiber optic and CAT

6 is essential.

- Design and development of PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, and

Function Block Diagrams.

- HMI programming preferably with ICONICS Genesis SCADA, Using OPC DA, AE, HDA, and UA

within a control system.

- Should be able to validate System Architecture diagram/ Control System Network

architecture,

- Should be well conversant with Basics of Networking (Level L1, L2, L3 networks) , Field Bus
- Foundation, HART, Modbus & amp; Profibus protocols, Ethernet / Fiber Optic/ RS232/ RS485

Communications.

- Good command of English, both verbal and writing
- Project management skills, Valuable organizational and problem-solving skill.
- Reviews and approves engineering documents and software of existing and new technology

or projects. Ensures that assignments meet standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.

- Actively manages and provides timely updates to engineering schedule,

updates to the project and engineering management team.

- Prepares documentation, information, and communications such as ECN (Engineering Change

Notices), part reports, and engineering specifications and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reporting and systems reporting.

- Provide expert technical support to, Factory acceptance test (FAT) and System integration test

(SIT) activities.

- Consults with other departments on equipment designs. Anticipates potential problems and

proactively solves complex problems through creative thinking, using internal and external resources.

- Should be able to work on analysis/obsolescence report.
- Responsible for writing test cases for various networks and configurations
- Understanding of function of HPU and experience of handling it for EFAT
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders during E-FATs/ offshore campaigns
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Instrumentation/Electrical/E&TC;, Engineering or comparable other

degree.

- Engineering and Design experience in Oil & Gas Feed & EPC Projects
- PLC Programming using Structural text and ladder, Knowledge of all industrial protocols,

Basic understanding of field instrumentation.

- Software development cycle, Project documentation.
- Project Lead
- Ability to understand the complete controls system including software, hardware, hydraulic

& Electrical/optical distribution systems

- PLC /DCS Programming using Structural text and ladder, Knowledge of all industrial

protocols, Basic understanding of field instrumentation.

- Controls Software development cycle, Project documentation.
- Work experience for pre-commissioning and commissioning of control systems (FAT/EFAT)
