Live Dispatch Specialist (Bilingual: French/English)

About the Role

The Live Dispatch Specialist keeps daily trucking operations running smoothly. You are the first point of contact for drivers and customers, monitoring the workday, resolving issues and breakdowns quickly, and keeping all records accurate. You also complete cross-border manifests (ACI/ACE), update our A1 TMS and Excel sheets, verify driver attendance, and hand off to the next dispatcher in morning meetings. You will own relevant KPIs, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and look for ways to improve processes, productivity, and accuracy.

As a bilingual role, you will support French-speaking drivers and customers in their preferred language.

Key Responsibilities

- Continuous improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to optimize processes, productivity, and operational accuracy.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure operations meet applicable safety standards and regulations and propose improvements where appropriate.
- KPI ownership: Take ownership of relevant KPIs and drive results against them.
- Live operations management: Proactively monitor the development of daily operations, manage unexpected situations, resolve issues, and act as the first point of contact for operational concerns.
- Driver and customer support:



Answer incoming phone calls and assist drivers and customers in French and English as required.
- Cross-border documentation: Complete ACI/ACE manifests as required.
- Attendance: Verify driver attendance daily.
- Breakdown coordination: Work with the Breakdown Center to resolve breakdowns efficiently and minimize downtime.
- Records and systems: Update Excel sheets, complete various forms, and update A1 (TMS) as the workday progresses.
- Shift handoff: Send updates and participate in morning meetings with the next dispatcher to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications

Required

- 2-5 years of experience in trucking dispatch, logistics, or transportation operations
- Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
- Working knowledge of cross-border processes, including ACI/ACE manifests
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort learning and using a TMS (experience with A1 is an asset)
- Strong phone communication and customer service skills
