Job Title: Safety Officer / EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Officer

Core Responsibilities:

- Safety Policy & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce company safety policies, guidelines, and transport safety regulations across all operations and sites.
- Ensure full compliance with regional and national occupational safety, vehicle safety, and road transport standards.
- Risk Assessment & Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and daily inspections of commercial vehicles, warehouses, loading bays, and workshop areas.
- Identify potential hazards related to cargo handling, vehicle maintenance, driver fatigue, and transport operations; implement corrective actions.
- Driver & Staff Training:
- Plan and deliver safety training sessions, orientation programs, and defensive driving workshops for drivers, mechanics, and ground staff.
- Conduct regular briefings on road safety rules, emergency response, fire safety, and safe cargo loading/tying procedures.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Lead thorough investigations of all accidents, near-misses, vehicle breakdowns, and property damage incidents.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for on-road incidents, hazardous spills, vehicle fires, and workplace accidents.




- Ensure all vehicles and facilities are equipped with functional safety gear, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and warning triangles.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Maintenance Safety:
- Monitor and enforce the proper use of PPE (safety shoes, high-visibility vests, gloves) by drivers and workshop staff.
- Collaborate with fleet managers to ensure vehicles undergo routine safety checks before long-distance journeys.
- Documentation & Safety Records:
- Maintain accurate safety records, compliance logs, training attendance lists, and accident reporting databases.
- Prepare monthly safety performance summaries and present key metrics to management.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or Fire & Safety Management.
- Certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certifications preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in logistics, transport, warehousing, or fleet management.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance safety, and hazard management.
