Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – International Logistics & Exports

1. Role Objective

To independently manage end-to-end international export logistics, particularly shipments to the USA and Europe, including overseas warehouse operations, freight forwarding, shipment planning and regulatory compliance.

The role will have significant commercial responsibility for identifying economical freight solutions, negotiating competitive rates, optimising logistics costs and ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods across international markets.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. International Export Logistics

- Independently manage end-to-end export logistics operations, particularly shipments to the USA and European markets.
- Coordinate with international freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers (CHA) and transporters.
- Manage FCL/LCL shipments, air freight, sea freight and multimodal transportation.
- Plan and monitor shipments from the manufacturing plant to the overseas destination, ensuring timely delivery.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, documentation issues and operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure smooth coordination between domestic and international logistics partners.

B. Overseas Warehouse Operations

- Coordinate and manage third-party warehouse operations in the USA and other international markets.
- Monitor overseas inventory, stock reconciliation, goods receipts, dispatches and order fulfilment.
- Coordinate with overseas warehouse operators and logistics partners for storage, handling and distribution.
- Ensure proper inventory visibility, stock movement records and timely reporting.
- Monitor warehousing costs and identify opportunities for operational and cost optimisation.

C. Freight Procurement & Cost Optimisation

- Identify the most economical and efficient freight forwarding solutions for international shipments.




- Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations from multiple freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates, transportation charges, warehousing costs and other associated logistics expenses.
- Evaluate alternative shipping routes, transit times, shipping modes (FCL/LCL/Air) and consolidation opportunities to reduce overall logistics costs.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of reliable freight forwarders and logistics partners, particularly for USA and European destinations.
- Monitor additional costs such as demurrage, detention, port charges, customs clearance and overseas warehousing expenses.
- Continuously benchmark freight rates and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising delivery timelines, shipment safety or service quality.
- Maintain freight cost comparisons, shipment-wise cost analysis and logistics savings reports.

D. Export Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

- Handle export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, certificates of origin and other applicable documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable export-import regulations, customs procedures and international trade requirements.
- Have a good understanding of US import regulations, customs requirements and FDA-related import requirements wherever applicable to the products.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, CHAs, regulatory agencies and overseas partners.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all export and shipping documentation.

E. Internal Coordination & MIS

- Coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Production, Planning, Finance and Quality.
- Maintain shipment trackers, logistics MIS, freight cost reports and overseas warehouse inventory records.




- Monitor shipment performance, logistics expenditure and delivery commitments.
- Identify process improvements and implement cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on shipments, costs, delays and operational performance.

3. Desired Candidate Profile

- 7–15 years of relevant experience in international logistics, export operations and supply chain management.
- Experience in Chemical / Specialty Chemical / Pharmaceutical / API / Allied Manufacturing industries preferred.
- Robust hands-on experience in handling exports to the USA and European markets.
- Practical exposure to overseas warehousing, preferably in the USA.
- Proven experience in freight negotiations, vendor management and logistics cost optimisation.
- Good understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, export documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be capable of independently managing logistics operations with minimal supervision.

4. Candidate Eligibility & Compensation

- Designation: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Logistics.
- Experience: 7–15 years.
- Age: Below 40 years.
- CTC: Up to ₹7–8 LPA, depending on experience and suitability.
- Joining: Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period preferred.
- Location: Vadodara, Gujarat. Candidates from Gujarat preferred; others willing to relocate may also apply.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
