Job Description for Grinder Operator

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Grinder Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in grinding, back grinding, edge finishing, and surface finishing of metal components. The candidate must ensure proper surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and finishing standards as per engineering drawings and production requirements.

Responsibilities

· Perform grinding operations on fabricated metal components.

· Operate hand grinders, angle grinders, and other grinding equipment.

· Carry out weld grinding, weld dressing, back grinding, and surface finishing activities.

· Remove excess weld material, sharp edges, burrs, and unwanted projections.

· Ensure proper surface finishing without damaging the base material.

· Follow engineering drawings and supervisor instructions during grinding operations.

· Check the finished components for surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

· Select appropriate grinding wheels, discs, and abrasives for different materials.

· Maintain grinding machines, tools, and equipment in good working condition.





· Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during grinding activities.

· Maintain workplace cleanliness and housekeeping.

Requirements

· ITI / Relevant technical qualification preferred.

· Proven experience as a Grinder Operator in manufacturing or fabrication industries.

· Practical knowledge of angle grinders, and grinding tools.

· Experience in weld grinding, back grinding, and metal surface finishing.

· Basic understanding of engineering drawings and measuring instruments.

· Knowledge of grinding wheels, abrasives, and safety procedures.

· Valuable attention to detail and finishing quality.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
