Job Summary:

Data Science team at St. John’s Research Institute, which builds research applications and develops and applies machine learning models to health research questions. The team works with high-performance compute infrastructure for data-intensive applications and machine learning experiments, and collaborates with multiple research teams to turn models into stable, reliable tools.

Salary : Rs. 40,000/- p.m

Key Responsibilities:

- The Junior Research Developer (Machine Learning) will support the team’s modelling work by running and benchmarking machine learning and deep learning models on HPC/GPU clusters (e.g., via SLURM) and reporting results such as accuracy, latency and GPU/memory utilisation.
- The role includes monitoring training and inference jobs and application/server logs to identify and fix failures and resource bottlenecks; assisting with data preprocessing, model training,



evaluation and experiment tracking; debugging Python applications and APIs using logs and tracebacks; building RESTful APIs in Python to serve models; supporting testing and code reviews; and documenting experiments, benchmarks and code.
- Applicants should have robust Python skills (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow), working knowledge of Linux and of reading logs, a basic understanding of machine learning, and familiarity with a Python web framework (Flask, Django or FastAPI).
- Exposure to HPC, SLURM, Git, MLflow or Docker is an advantage.

Eligibility Criteria:

Preferred Qualifications: MSc in Data Science, IT or Computer Science; or BTech in Computer Science or AI

Experience : Minimum Two years experience / Freshers acceptable

Preferred Language: English and Kannada
