Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Paint / Coating Testing Engineer to join our NABL-accredited commercial testing laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical testing on paint, powder coating, and protective coating samples sent by various manufacturing and industrial clients. The role requires strict adherence to ISO/IEC 17025 quality management standards and relevant national/international testing methods (IS, ASTM, ISO).

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform physical, mechanical, and chemical testing on paint and liquid coating samples (e.g., viscosity, density, drying time, gloss, adhesion, scratch hardness, impact resistance).
- Conduct environmental durability tests such as Salt Spray testing, humidity resistance, and weather resistance tests on coated specimens.
- Prepare, evaluate, and inspect coated panels/specimens as per standard client specifications.
- Document raw data accurately and generate final test reports in compliance with NABL and ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines.
- Handle calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory testing instruments.
- Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing (PT), and inter-laboratory comparisons (ILC) to maintain laboratory competency.




- Ensure full sample traceability by accurately recording sample IDs and maintaining laboratory logs.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Paint Technology, Chemical Engineering, or M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Chemistry.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in paint, polymer, or coating testing within an independent testing laboratory or QC department.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 standards, uncertainty of measurement, and standard test methods (ASTM, IS, ISO).
- Strong hands-on experience handling laboratory instruments like Salt Spray chambers, Gloss meters, DFT gauges, and Scratch hardness testers.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and neat report writing skills.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
