About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Chemical / Process Engineer – Design & Engineering with robust expertise in API Manufacturing Facilities and Pharmaceutical Engineering Projects.

The candidate will be responsible for process engineering, design development, technical documentation, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, process flow diagrams, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams for API and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Mandatory Requirement: Relevant experience in API Manufacturing Facilities and the Pharmaceutical Industry is essential.

Candidates with experience in large pharmaceutical companies and API manufacturing projects will have an added advantage.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Design & Engineering

- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), and process engineering layouts.
- Prepare process design basis, process descriptions, and engineering design documents.
- Perform material balance, mass balance, and heat balance calculations.
- Develop process flow schemes for API manufacturing and pharmaceutical production facilities.
- Define process parameters, operating conditions, and equipment requirements.
- Ensure process designs comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards.

Equipment Selection & Specifications

- Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, and technical documents for process equipment.
- Work on selection and sizing of reactors, storage tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, filters, dryers, centrifuges, and other process equipment.
- Review equipment vendor drawings, technical offers, and engineering submissions.
- Prepare technical bid evaluations (TBE) and support vendor finalization.




- Coordinate with vendors and equipment manufacturers for technical clarifications.

API & Pharmaceutical Process Engineering

- Handle process engineering requirements for API manufacturing facilities and pharmaceutical plants.
- Understand API manufacturing processes, batch processing, and pharmaceutical production requirements.
- Work on process equipment integration and utility requirements.
- Ensure appropriate process design considerations for pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Coordinate with production, quality, validation, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure engineering deliverables align with applicable GMP requirements.

Piping & Utility Coordination

- Coordinate process piping requirements, line sizing, and piping specifications.
- Review piping layouts, equipment layouts, and utility distribution requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanical, piping, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation, and civil/structural teams.
- Review utility requirements such as chilled water, cooling water, steam, compressed air, nitrogen, and other process utilities.
- Identify process-related design clashes and provide technical solutions.

Engineering Documentation & Technical Deliverables

- Prepare and review:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Process Design Basis.
- Equipment Datasheets and Specifications.
- Material & Heat Balance Calculations.
- Process Descriptions and Operating Philosophies.
- Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
- BOQs and Engineering Specifications.
- Review consultant and vendor engineering documents.
- Ensure timely submission of engineering deliverables as per project schedules.





Project Coordination & Compliance

- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, vendors, and clients.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering coordination meetings.
- Ensure process engineering activities comply with applicable codes, standards, GMP requirements, and project specifications.
- Resolve technical queries and engineering design issues.
- Support project execution teams with process-related engineering clarifications.

Qualifications & Skills

- B.E. in Chemical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Chemical / Process Design & Engineering.
- Mandatory experience in API Manufacturing Facilities and Pharmaceutical Industry projects.
- Strong knowledge of API manufacturing processes and pharmaceutical plant engineering.
- Experience in developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs;, process layouts, and engineering documents.
- Knowledge of mass balance, heat balance, process calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Experience in process equipment selection, specifications, and datasheet preparation.
- Knowledge of process piping, utility systems, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
- Experience in technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and engineering submissions.
- Understanding of GMP requirements and pharmaceutical engineering standards.
- Strong technical coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹50,776.85 - ₹190,000.00 per month
