About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will own our books of accounts and take end-to-end responsibility for GST compliance and returns. We want someone who reads the numbers, flags risks early and supports management decisions with sharp analysis and sound business judgement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, reconcile and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C) accurately and on time
- Reconcile books with GSTR-2A/2B, maximise ITC and resolve mismatches
- Manage e-invoicing, e-way bills, GST payments, refunds and RCM
- Handle GST notices, departmental queries and audits
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally and own month-end and year-end closing
- Complete bank, vendor and customer reconciliations; manage TDS/TCS and statutory compliances
- Support statutory, internal and tax audits
- Prepare MIS, P&L;,
balance sheet and cash flow reports with variance and margin analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting, and strengthen internal controls
- Guide junior accountants and coordinate with auditors, consultants and internal teams
Requirements
- B.Com / M.Com; CA Inter, ICWA or MBA (Finance) preferred
- 8–10 years of relevant accounting experience
- Expert-level working knowledge of Tally
- GST knowledge is a must: law, returns, ITC reconciliation, e-invoicing and notices
- Working knowledge of TDS and statutory compliance
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Advanced MS Excel
- Willingness to work six days a week at Charni Road, Mumbai
Good to Have
- Experience in retail, trading, distribution or e-commerce
- Exposure to multi-GSTIN or multi-entity accounting
- Experience handling GST audits and assessments
