MITTI’s livelihood model includes café operations, structured training with stipends, community meal programs for economically vulnerable families, and a curated platform for products made by marginalized communities. The organization has delivered over 4 million compassion meals and shipped over 150,000 ethical gifts to leading companies worldwide. Role Description The Commi Chef will support daily kitchen operations at MITTI Café, including basic food preparation, cooking assistance, and plating under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety, following recipes and portion guidelines, and ensuring ingredients are properly stored and organized.



The role involves working collaboratively with the café team to deliver consistent, quality meals and beverages, assisting with inventory checks, and keeping workstations clean and orderly. This is a full-time, in office role based in Mumbai, and may involve shifts, weekends, and peak-hour service. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Food Preparation and Cooking skills to support daily kitchen operations.
• Candidates should possess solid Culinary Skills to follow recipes, assist in menu execution, and maintain food quality.
• Candidates should possess good Hygiene practices and knowledge of basic food safety standards.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work cooperatively with the kitchen and café team.
• Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or institutional kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and follow instructions accurately.
• Openness to learning, empathy for diverse colleagues, and alignment with MITTI Café’s inclusive mission.
• Basic education and familiarity with local languages and simple English will be an advantage.
