· 6–8 years About Daikin India Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., a global leader in air-conditioning. Since entering India in 2000, we have built strong customer trust through innovative products and a consistent focus on quality, and we lead the market in both large commercial and premium residential air-conditioning. We are ISO 14001 certified, and our “Quality First” philosophy drives us to contribute to a better, more comfortable world.
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build predictive models, intelligent automation and applied AI for connected HVAC and smart building systems. The work spans forecasting, computer vision, GenAI and LLM-based solutions, all running on real sensor data. You’ll join a close-knit AI & IoT R&D; team where you own models and pipelines end to end, set the bar for engineering quality, and ship models into production, not just notebooks. What you’ll do
• Technical ownership: Own the technical direction for one or more model areas, from problem framing and architecture through production rollout.
• Modelling and forecasting: Build, train and evaluate models for forecasting, dynamic decision-making and intelligent control using historical and real-time data. Apply regression, time-series analysis, reinforcement learning and optimisation.
• Computer vision: Develop and integrate CV models for image and video analytics across IoT and HVAC systems.
• GenAI, LLMs and agents:
Design GenAI solutions for simulation, anomaly detection and synthetic data. Apply LLMs to conversational AI and documentation automation, and build agentic and multi-agent solutions for autonomous decision-making.
• Data engineering: Clean and preprocess structured, unstructured and multimodal data, and build scalable batch and real-time pipelines.
• Deployment and monitoring: Deploy models on AWS behind real-time inference APIs. Track accuracy, latency and efficiency, and keep improving models as new data arrives.
• Quality and mentoring: Lead design and code reviews, set standards for reproducibility and documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Cross-team work: Work daily with Product, Cloud, IoT, firmware and application teams to frame problems, agree success metrics, provide estimates, flag risks early and take models from pilot to production. What you’ll bring
• 6+ years in machine learning and predictive modelling, with models you’ve taken to production
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML or a related field
• Expertise in time-series forecasting, predictive analytics and optimisation
• Strong Python with TensorFlow or PyTorch and scikit-learn, plus solid mathematical modelling
• Hands-on computer vision (OpenCV, YOLO, Detectron2 or similar)
• Working knowledge of GenAI (GANs, diffusion, prompt engineering), LLMs (Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, fine-tuning) and agentic or multi-agent systems
• Experience with data pipelines, API development and AWS
• A collaborative style: clear communication, active in reviews and planning, quick to help teammates get unblocked Good to have
• Real-time or IoT sensor data at scale
• Smart systems, automation or industrial AI projects
• MLOps, Docker/Kubernetes or edge inference
• HVAC, BMS/BAS or building automation domain knowledge Our tech stack ML/DL: Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, time-series, RL, optimisation Applied AI: OpenCV, YOLO, Detectron2, GANs, diffusion, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, agentic frameworks Data: multimodal data (text, image, sensor streams), batch and real-time pipelines, SQL/NoSQL Cloud: AWS, real-time model serving, monitoring and retraining Who you are You’re a strong builder and a strong teammate, and you measure success by what runs in production rather than by offline metrics. You have deep, proven expertise in at least one of forecasting, computer vision or GenAI/LLMs, and you’re curious enough about the rest, and about the devices generating the data, to debug across boundaries instead of handing the ticket on. You share credit and context, ask valuable questions early, help others ship as readily as you ship yourself, and leave the codebase and the team better than you found them.
