Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Principal Engineer - Power Electronics for a premier energy technology client. This candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for defining the future of grid-scale power electronics, developing breakthrough technologies, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance next-generation electrification solutions. Day-to-Day:
Develop enterprise technology and product roadmaps
Lead disruptive research and commercialization efforts
Build strategic partnerships with universities, government agencies, and industry partners
Drive advanced power electronics demonstrations and innovation programs
Provide technical leadership across enterprise electrification initiatives Skills and Requirements PhD with 15+ years OR Master's with 18+ years of Power Electronics experience
10+ years deploying electrical systems into production environments
10+ years leading large technical teams or programs
Expertise in grid-scale power electronics, converters, protection systems, semiconductors, and HVDC/MVDC architectures
Experience with PLECS, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, DSP/FPGA controls, and hardware validation




Multi-disciplinary engineering leadership
Strong industrial electrical systems experience
Exposure to AI/ML, power systems, electrical machines, and thermal sciences
