Technology Leader Organisation: VakeelSaab – A LegalTech Platform with 4,000+ lawyers onboarded Role: Technology Leader Compensation: Up to ₹25 Lakhs per annum Reporting To: CEO a) Role Overview: Lead the technology and AI vision of the company, build a scalable and secure platform, develop an institutional-grade engineering organisation, support future fundraising initiatives, and establish the technology foundations required for long-term fund raise readiness. c) Overall Responsibilities
• Define and execute the technology strategy.
• Build scalable cloud architecture and engineering processes.
• Establish governance, cybersecurity, documentation and compliance frameworks.
• Drive fundraising and investor technology due diligence readiness.
• Recruit, mentor and retain high-performing engineering leaders.
• Improve platform reliability, performance and security.
• Manage technology budgets and vendor relationships.
• Partner with founders on product innovation and growth. d) Operational Responsibilities
• Partner with existing team and tech leader to define and execute the technology roadmap.
• Actively build and deliver new modules and products.
• Drive bug fixing, optimization, and ongoing development of the existing platform.
• Lead engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery of scalable, secure solutions.
• Mentor engineers, establish coding standards, and promote best practices.
• Represent technology in cross-functional discussions with product, design, and business teams. e) AI & Innovation Leadership
• Own and execute the company AI strategy.
• Build AI-powered legal research, drafting, contract review and document intelligence products.
• Lead development of legal copilots, AI agents and workflow automation tools.
• Evaluate and integrate OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google and open-source AI models.




• Build proprietary legal datasets and AI assets.
• Establish AI governance, responsible AI and data privacy frameworks.
• Scale AI infrastructure, MLOps and data engineering capabilities.
• Use AI as a core growth and valuation driver for the company.
· Design and build AI-led products such as:
• Legal document automation using NLP and generative AI.
• Predictive analytics for case outcomes and lawyer performance.
• Intelligent search and recommendation engines for legal queries.
• Chatbots and virtual assistants for client-lawyer interactions. f) Required Experience
• 12+ years of technology leadership experience.
• Proven experience scaling SaaS, marketplace or enterprise technology platforms.
• Strong experience managing engineering teams.
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor diligence or board-level reporting.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and software architecture. g) Required AI Expertise
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI products into production.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG, Vector Databases, Agentic AI and MLOps.
• Experience with AI application architecture and productisation.
• Hands-on understanding of AI platforms and model integration.
• Experience building AI-powered workflows in regulated or compliance-focused industries is desirable. h) Fundraising Readiness
• Create technology controls suitable for institutional investors.
• Build audit-ready systems and documentation.
• Implement security and risk frameworks.
• Develop engineering metrics, governance processes and reporting standards. i) Success Metrics
