About the Role
You will work on the cloud backend that everything else talks to: every edge device, camera, dashboard, and mobile app. This includes async APIs, data pipelines, real-time video plumbing, and deployments for a multi
- tenant system where multiple client organisations, each with multiple factory sites, run on the same platform, sometimes in the cloud and sometimes on-premise at the client's facility. Responsibilities Design and build async REST APIs with FastAPI and async SQLAlchemy on PostgreSQL Build and maintain multi-tenant APIs where every request is correctly scoped to its organisation, site, and user permissions Design PostgreSQL schemas, write migrations, and optimise queries as data volume grows Work on real-time systems: Redis for caching and queues, WebSockets for live updates,



and go2rtc for camera stream relay Work with camera streams on the backend side: RTSP feeds, ffmpeg for remuxing and clipping, and serving video to web and mobile clients Write tests and maintain the testing pipeline so changes ship safely to production ZeroForg zeroforg.comContainerise and deploy services on AWS, managing infrastructure as code with Terraform, and help package the platform for on-premise client deployments Requirements Strong Python, including async programming (asyncio, async/await, concurrent I/O) Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, joins, transactions, and query optimisation Experience building or working with multi-tenant APIs Experience writing tests and working with a testing pipeline (pytest, CI) Familiarity with Redis, WebSockets, go2rtc, and sandboxing tools like gVisor Working knowledge of AWS and Terraform Camera and video basics like RTSP and ffmpeg are strongly preferred Bonus Experience using Docker and Terraform to handle on-premise deployments Prior work with edge devices or microcontrollers Any work on multi-tenancy security (tenant isolation, access control, data separation) Eligibility Students or recent graduates from CS, IT, ECE, EE, ME, and related branches who can commit 6 months full
