Role Summary India House is seeking an Communications Associate to drive its content, brand communication, and digital presence. The role is ideal for someone with strong writing and storytelling abilities, a keen understanding of visual communication, and an interest in shaping how an organization communicates its ideas, work, and identity. The candidate should be capable of bringing together content, design, branding, and digital strategy to build a consistent and compelling communication ecosystem for India House.

Key Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy & Creation
• Develop and manage content across social media, newsletters, emailers, websites, blogs, reports, institutional publications, and marketing collaterals.
• Research and translate complex ideas, public policy issues, and social developments into engaging, accessible, and well-structured content for diverse audiences.
• Establish content themes, editorial calendars, and storytelling approaches that reflect India House's priorities and engage different audience groups. 2. Brand & Visual Identity
• Contribute to defining and strengthening India House's brand identity, communication style, tone, and visual language.
• Develop communication briefs and provide creative direction for visual outputs such as graphics, infographics, presentations, reports, and digital creatives.
• Ensure that the organization's visual identity and messaging remain coherent across platforms and communication materials. 3. Digital and Social Media Strategy
• Develop and implement social media strategies to strengthen India House's digital presence, institutional positioning, and audience engagement.
• Manage the organization's digital channels,



including social media and website content, with a focus on discoverability, SEO, and audience relevance.
• Track communication performance through analytics and use insights to improve reach, engagement, and content effectiveness. 4. Communication Management
• Translate organizational priorities, programs, partnerships, events, and institutional milestones into structured communication plans.
• Work closely with the Design Team to plan, prioritize, and manage communication requirements, ensuring effective alignment between content, visual outputs, and timelines.
• Manage communication projects from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely execution. Desired Profile
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and research capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
• Understanding of brand communication, visual storytelling, graphic design principles, and the ability to conceptualise effective visual communication. Hands-on design skills would be an advantage but are not mandatory.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing, SEO, website content management, and content analytics.
• Ability to develop communication strategies, manage multiple projects, and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with AI tools and emerging digital communication practices.
• An interest in public policy, governance, social development, Indian culture, and contemporary societal issues would be an advantage.
