10+ Years Employment Type: Full time Reporting To: Director / Business Head Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced professional to lead our CRGO and Electrical Steel Trading business. The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete trading cycle, including procurement, international sourcing, imports, logistics, sales, customer development and commercial operations. The role requires strong industry connections, technical knowledge of CRGO steel and proven experience in both buying and selling steel.

Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
• Source CRGO mother coils (Prime, Secondary and Seconds) from domestic and international suppliers.
• Develop relationships with steel mills, traders and stockists across Japan, Korea, China, Russia and Europe.
• Evaluate CRGO grades, specifications, thickness, width, core loss and quality certificates.
• Negotiate purchase prices, payment terms, Incoterms and delivery schedules.
• Monitor global steel prices, market trends and supply-demand movements. 2. Import & Logistics Management
• Manage end-to-end import operations, including container and breakbulk shipments.
• Coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines and insurance providers.
• Handle LC documentation, Bills of Lading, Mill Test Certificates and Certificates of Origin.
• Ensure customs clearance, BIS / QCO compliance and applicable import regulations.
• Manage port-to-warehouse transportation, inventory and coil storage.




• Coordinate slitting, cut-to-length and core-cutting operations. 3. Sales & Business Development
• Sell CRGO mother coils and slit coils to transformer manufacturers, OEMs, core-cutting units and stockists.
• Develop new customers and strengthen existing business relationships.
• Identify opportunities across power, distribution and special transformer segments.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and close profitable deals.
• Match available inventory with customer requirements to improve stock turnover.
• Handle customer complaints, quality claims and technical queries.
• Monitor customer payments, receivables and credit limits. 4. Commercial & Business Management
• Take ownership of the P&L; for the CRGO trading business.
• Manage purchase costs, landed costs, selling prices and gross margins.
• Coordinate with the finance team for working capital, banking and LC limits.
• Ensure GST, customs and foreign exchange compliance.
• Prepare monthly reports on sales volumes, margins, inventory ageing and receivables.
• Drive profitability, inventory turnover and timely deliveries. Required Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in steel trading,



covering both procurement and sales.
• Strong knowledge of CRGO / Electrical Steel grades, specifications and quality parameters.
• Proven experience in international sourcing and import operations.
• Good understanding of Letters of Credit (LC), Incoterms, customs clearance, freight and marine insurance.
• Established network of international suppliers, steel mills, traders, slitting centres and transformer manufacturers.
• Graduate in any discipline; Engineering or MBA qualification preferred. Preferred Skills
• Experience dealing with transformer OEMs and utility-approved vendors.
• Knowledge of BIS certification and Quality Control Orders (QCO) applicable to CRGO in India.
• Exposure to slitting and core-cutting operations.
• Strong negotiation, business development and deal-closing skills.
• Excellent understanding of landed-cost calculations, margins and working capital.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP / trading systems. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Monthly / quarterly purchase and sales volume (tonnes).
• Gross margin per tonne and per trading lot.
• Inventory turnover and stock ageing.
• Receivables and overdue payments.
• On-time shipment and delivery performance.
• Quality claims and commercial dispute management.
