JOB DESCRIPTION
COMPANY: Ancor Research Labs LLP
LOCATION:
Greater Noida/ Aligarh POSITION: Creative Industrial Designer (CAD/CAM & Design for Manufacturing) INDUSTRY: Aerospace and Defence SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Industrial Designer to join our innovative team, specializing in advanced product development within robotics and aerospace industries. The ideal candidate will combine artistic vision with deep expertise in CAD/CAM software and design for manufacturing (DFM), driving the creation of high-performance, scalable, and manufacturable products. You will play a pivotal role in transforming conceptual ideas into tangible, market-ready solutions by leveraging cutting-edge design tools, engineering principles, and industry-specific standards. Your work will directly influence product functionality, manufacturability, and user experience across complex systems in robotics and aerospace applications. This role demands a forward-thinking mindset, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of design innovation in technically demanding environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead the conceptualization and development of industrial designs for robotics and aerospace systems using advanced CAD/CAM software. 2. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure optimal manufacturability, scalability, and cost-efficiency. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, production, and R&D; teams to translate technical requirements into user-centric, functional designs. 4. Develop detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and prototypes using CAD tools, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards. 5. Conduct design evaluations and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders, testing, and performance analysis. 6.
Support prototyping efforts using rapid manufacturing techniques and evaluate prototypes for form, fit, function, and manufacturability. 7. Integrate materials, finishes, and surface treatments with consideration for environmental, mechanical, and thermal demands in aerospace and robotic applications. 8. Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bill of Materials (BoM), design specifications, and version control. 9. Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends in robotics, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. 10. Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and design validation processes aligned with industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ISO, ASME). Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 2. Proven experience (3+ years) in industrial design with robust proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Siemens NX, CATIA). 3. Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Sustainability (DfS). 4. Hands-on experience in robotics and/or aerospace product design, including familiarity with lightweight materials, structural integrity, and environmental resilience. 5. Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining) and end-to-end product development lifecycle. 6. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and composite layup. 7. Excellent visualization and communication skills, with ability to present concepts through sketches, renderings, and technical documentation. 8. Familiarity with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards relevant to aerospace and robotics (e.g., FAA, EASA, ISO 13485, MIL-STD). 9. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. 10. Portfolio showcasing complex product designs, particularly in high-tech or industrial applications.
