Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Molten Metal Handling Trainer with a strong metallurgy background in metal manufacturing plants (aluminium and steel manufacturing, covering smelting, melting, casting, rolling and extrusion). The trainer will design and deliver practical training that reduces molten metal incidents, with particular focus on moisture-related explosion risks, casting operations and emergency readiness.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver classroom and on-the-job training on molten metal safety to operators, supervisors, crane and mobile equipment operators, and maintenance teams.
• Train on controlling moisture in vessels, troughs, drain pans, pits and refractory, including drying, preheating and moisture-measurement methods.




• Cover safe handling of ingot, sow and scrap charge materials, and recommend purchase specifications for charge materials (zero moisture, safe packaging and transport).
• Train on safe cast start and end practices, hands-free operation, barrier shields and pre-cast checklists.
• Cover metal transport by crane and crucible, mobile equipment and pedestrian segregation, and restricting unauthorised entry to molten metal zones.
• Train on PPE selection and use (FR clothing, aluminised layers, face shields), including heat stress and cryolite exposure.
• Cover casting and furnace pit coating integrity and safe removal of spilled metal from pits, including steel ladle, tundish and caster-pit practices.
• Build emergency readiness: escape routes, shut-offs, plug bars and run-out containment, with drills.
• Share global best practices and lessons from incidents; promote near-miss reporting and review of SOPs and checklists.
• Assess trainees (pre/post tests, practical sign-off) and submit training reports, attendance records and improvement recommendations. Desirable
• Exposure to aluminium and copper casting (DC and billet casting), steel making (BOF/EAF,



ladle and continuous casting) and international best practices.
• Certification in industrial safety (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma in Industrial Safety) or Train-the-Trainer.
• Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of the local language is an advantage. Eligibility Criteria Candidates must meet all of the following to be shortlisted:

Experience:
Minimum 7 years in molten metal operations at an aluminium, steel or other metal manufacturing plant, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or technical lead role.
• Training background: Minimum 3 years of experience delivering plant safety or technical training, with the ability to show past modules or feedback.
• Safety record: Clean personal safety record and no involvement in unresolved safety violations; background and reference checks apply.
• Medical fitness: Valid fitness certificate for entry to hot-work and molten metal zones.
• Availability: Able to work on-site at plant locations and travel as needed for the contract period.
• Age: Up to 65 years (retired plant professionals are welcome).
• Language: Fluent in English and Hindi. Key Skills Clear communicator with strong shop-floor credibility. Able to simplify metallurgical concepts for operators. Skilled in practical demonstrations, risk-based thinking and drill facilitation.
