Java Developer

Key responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and backend services.
- Build and enhance application components using the Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Develop persistence and data-access layers using Hibernate/JPA.
- Design, write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
- Work with relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Minimal experience on No SQL databases like Hive etc.
- Translate business and technical requirements into well-structured, maintainable solutions.
- Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to automated testing and quality improvements.
- Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver timely fixes.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to support end-to-end delivery.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and database components.
- Follow secure coding, performance, scalability, and coding-standard practices.

Required qualifications and skills

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 36 years of professional software development experience with Java.
- Strong knowledge of core Java concepts, object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and multithreading.
- Hands-on experience with Spring modules,



including Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Data.
- Strong experience with Hibernate/JPA and ORM concepts.
- Good understanding of relational database concepts, data modelling, normalization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with at least one RDBMS.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful & SOAP web services.
- Familiarity with Maven or Gradle and Git-based version control.
- Understanding of software development life cycle, Agile practices, and collaborative delivery.
- Solid problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Positive to have

- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Spring Security, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with observability, logging, and application-performance monitoring.
- Experience working in an enterprise product or client-delivery environment.
