We are looking for an experienced Store Assistant with a background in stores management and purchasing in a steel plant. The candidate should have good knowledge of inventory management, procurement, vendor coordination, and steel plant materials. The role involves maintaining optimum stock levels, managing purchase indents and orders, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring material receipts and consumption, and ensuring accurate inventory records using ERP/Tally and MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and maintain minimum/maximum stock levels and reorder levels for raw materials, Ferro alloys, refractories, spares, and consumables.

2. Review stock reports and plant consumption to prepare and raise purchase indents.

3. Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate with suppliers, and place purchase orders (POs).

4. Verify material specifications, check test certificates, and coordinate quality inspections at the plant.

Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

6. Monitor daily stock receipts, issues, and consumption reports from plant stores

7. Maintain accurate records of indents, POs, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), stock movements, and supplier performance in ERP/Tally

8. Coordinate with plant stores, production, maintenance, and accounts teams

9. Ensure proper documentation and timely updating of inventory records

Candidate Requirements:

1. Hands-on experience with ERP/Tally and strong MS Excel skills

2. Valuable knowledge of steel plant materials, vendors, market prices, and purchasing procedures

3. Strong coordination, supplier follow-up, and record-keeping skills.

4. Ability to manage inventory efficiently and ensure timely availability of materials.
