Love travel? Love people? Know how to keep a group smiling even when things don't go quite to plan?

Velvet Voyage is a Bangalore-based travel company creating thoughtfully designed small-group journeys for travellers aged 50+. Our groups are typically 10–14 curious, enthusiastic travellers exploring everything from wildlife safaris and cultural festivals to village kitchens and lesser-known destinations.

We believe excellent journeys need more than great itineraries. They need someone who brings the whole experience together. We're looking for experienced freelance Tour Leaders — our Voyage Buddies — for upcoming domestic and international journeys.

The role: Part host. Part problem-solver. A whole lot of people skills.

You'll accompany the group throughout the journey, keeping things organised, enjoyable and running smoothly. You'll be the familiar face everyone turns to, the person who anticipates what might go wrong, and the one who makes sure everyone feels included.

What you'll do

- Accompany groups from departure through return, serving as their primary point of contact.
- Coordinate with hotels, transport providers, local guides and restaurants to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage unexpected situations, itinerary changes, guest concerns and emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Balance the planned itinerary with the group's comfort, interests and energy.
- Bring warmth, enthusiasm and a sense of fun to the journey, encouraging interaction and camaraderie.
- Assist travellers with airport procedures, documentation and travel formalities where needed.




- Maintain daily communication with Velvet Voyage, flagging concerns promptly.
- Manage trip-related expenses and complete basic post-trip reporting.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

- Proven experience leading escorted group tours, domestically or internationally.
- Experience accompanying travellers aged 50+ (strongly preferred).
- Excellent coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; additional Indian languages are an advantage.
- The physical fitness and flexibility to manage full touring days.
- Basic first-aid awareness and the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
- A valid passport for international assignments.

Above all, you should genuinely enjoy being around people. We want someone who's warm without being intrusive, organised without being rigid, and confident enough to handle a difficult situation without making it everyone's problem.

Engagement: Freelance, per trip

Destinations: Domestic and international

Group size: Typically 10–14 guests

Expenses: Trip-related travel, accommodation and meals covered

Compensation: Competitive fixed fee per trip, agreed before departure based on experience and assignment requirements.
